Overview
Take in all the important sites on a three day trip with a definite' watery' theme,not only will you see the splendor of the Grand Palace and Wat Prah Kaew we wail take you back to a more leisurely pace of life with a long tail boat ride into the Thonburi Canals. On day 2 you will get up close to the sites and sounds of the floating market at Damnoen Saduak follow with a visit to the cultural performances and displays at the Rose Garden On this three dayer we will also get out of the city to see the intact remnants of the Old Siam Kingdom at Ayutthaya.and in continuation with the watery theme of this package we will board a cruise boat to take us back to Bangkok along the Chao Phraya River.
Day 1
We will collect you from your Bangkok hotel with our modern and comfortable air conditioned transport before making our way to Bangkok's stunning Grand Palace and Wat Pra Kaew home of the emerald Buddha. The Grand Palace was once the traditional residence of the Thai Royal Family although the current King lives at Chitralada palace. This palace complex was constructed in 1785 by as a Royal residence and since then further buildings have been added including Wat Phra Kaew which served as the monarchs personal place of worship. From the Grand Palace we will take a cross river ferry to see the majestic and Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn) Following lunch we will boat a long tail motorboat to discover a quieter and more leisurely pace of Bangkok life up and down the narrow klongs (canals) in Thonburi on the west side of the river. We will end the day by transferring you back to your Bangkok hotel.
Day 2
You will be collected from your hotel before heading out of the city towards Damnoen Saduak. Please be ready for an early start as we want to catch the full flavour, sights and colours that this famous floating market has to offer. Driving time will be about one hour. On arrival at Damnoen Saduak you will board the motorboat for your 15 minute ride to the market along quaint canals where you can see real canal side life. On arrival at the floating market you will be free to take a walk around or board a paddle boat to get up close to all the market action. Fruit, produce, noodles and craft knickknacks are all available from the passing flotilla of paddle boats stacked high with their wares. Following the floating market we will start the drive towards the Rose Garden. If elephants are you thing then we can stop off on route for an elephant ride (this is an option and your choice) At the Rose Garden you will take a sumptuous buffet lunch and enjoy all the cultural shows and exhibits that this place offers. Exhibits of interest include silk and mat weaving, pottery making, paper umbrella painting, doll making, fruit carving, rice-pounding and even the delicate crafting of silver and laquerware.You can also see impressive cultural displays which include Muay Thai boxing, sword fighting, Thai dances, elephants at work and much, much more.all this set within some of the most beautiful gardens in Thailand. Following our Rose Garden visit we will make the return drive back to Bangkok where we will transport you to your hotel.
Day 3
You will be collected from your Bangkok hotel for the 53 km drive north to visit the Unesco World Heritage site of Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was the capital of a thriving Thai Kingdom from 1350 to 1767 of which plenty of the temples still remain intact. On this day we will take you to see some of the 400 remaining ruins including Wat Phra Sanphet, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Panangcherng and Wat Chai Mongkol, known for its large bronze statue of the Reclining Buddha. At the Summer Palace at Bang Pa-In see the mixture of Thai, Chinese and Gothic architecture. Your trip doesn't end here as we will board the cruise boat for the leisurely cruise back to Bangkok., you will pass rural scenes as well as getting an in depth view of river life. As we enter Bangkok you will see this city from a different perspective.as we pass famous sites such as Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. When we disembark the cruise boat we will transfer you back to your Bangkok hotel.
