It is required that foreigners arriving in Thailand also have an onward ticket out of the country before they will be admitted, however this rule is rarely enforced and checks are very infrequent. Many travellers will be planning to leave Thailand at an overland border crossing they therefore do not require any onward ticket on their arrival. However check with your airline before departure as some airlines will not allow you board a flight to Thailand without an onward ticket.
